Protecting Minors
Parents, guardians and every adult who plays at Cranbrook Casino should read this page, particularly anyone sharing a home or device with someone under 19. It applies across the whole site, including the Lobby, Live Casino, Jackpots, Promotions and Cranbrook Rewards, and explains how we prevent minors from accessing the platform and what you can do at home.
Restricting play to adults
Cranbrook Casino does not permit anyone under 19 to play, with no exceptions and regardless of where you play from. Creating an account on behalf of a minor, or allowing a minor to play through your account, breaches our Terms of Use.
We offer play only in jurisdictions where local law permits it, and we follow Canadian requirements on anti-money laundering, age verification and identity checks. Our offers and advertising are never aimed at young people, and Promotions are for adults only.
Installing parental controls and filters
Our checks stop minors from opening accounts, but the strongest protection starts at home. We recommend:
- Gamban / GamBlock: blocking tools that stop gambling sites and apps from opening on any device where they are installed.
- Device parental controls: the built-in controls on phones, tablets, computers and games consoles, which can restrict websites, apps and purchases.
- Home network filters: content filtering configured on your router or through your internet provider, covering every device that uses your home network.
- App store restrictions: age limits on downloads so that gambling apps cannot be installed on a child's device.
These tools need only a few minutes to configure and complement all the measures we take on our side.
Checking every player's age
Every registration includes an age check. Players provide a date of birth, and we verify it, along with their name and home address, against trusted data sources. If the electronic check does not give a clear result, we request a photo document issued by a government.
No deposit is accepted before we have confirmed age, identity and location. We repeat these checks whenever there is doubt, for example after account details change or when our monitoring suggests someone other than the account holder may be playing.
Every payment method must belong to the account holder. Some deposit options, such as Paysafecard and Flexepin vouchers, can be bought with cash, so we pay close attention to accounts that rely on them. Withdrawals are paid only to verified methods in the account holder's name.
Protecting shared devices
In many homes, laptops, tablets and phones are used by several family members. If anyone under 19 can reach the same device you play on, please take these steps:
- sign out of Cranbrook Casino whenever you finish playing;
- turn off your browser's option to store or autofill your password;
- set a screen lock code that children do not know;
- create separate user profiles so that each person has their own space;
- keep payment cards, e-wallet details and verification codes out of reach;
- never tell anyone your Cranbrook Casino password, including family members.
Our Cookies and Tracking page explains how sign-in information is stored on your device and how to clear it.
Our response to underage accounts
If we discover, or are told, that a person under 19 has opened or used an account, we act at once:
- We close the account straight away and halt all play.
- Every bet placed is void, and any winnings are forfeited.
- Where permitted by law, deposits are returned to the payment method they came from.
- We keep the details needed to prevent the same person from registering again.
Where an adult knowingly permitted a minor to play on their account, we will close that account too. Further action may follow if the law requires it.
